4.2 SC MY 06 vs MY 07 differences?

I am thinking if I should change my car to a newer 07MY SC. Apart from the newer dash, seats with smaller headrests and the Terrain Response knob, are there any more differences?
in my 06 car, I have successfully installed the L.R Ipod ACM so playing the Ipod is not an issue.

Are there enough differences in the cars to warrant a change? '01 1.8i Freelander. Grey/ grey

Personally I like the seats more in the older one for comfort. Thumbs Up
The 06 seats in mine were better than the seats in my 08. The back was split and more adjustable.

I have the 07.

It gives you the ability to programme the satnav on the move. Worth the upgrade cost and more for that alone.

Seats have, as well as seat heating, a cooling function (blows cold air up your rusty sheriff's badge - odd but some people pay good money up West for that).

Key moves to the dash and is now a "flick-knife" type (that recharges when plugged in).

For the passengers sitting at the back, wouldn't they have a better view forwards due to the smaller sized front seat headrests?
in my opinion, the MY06 front seat headrests are way too big! '01 1.8i Freelander. Grey/ grey

Whilst the key ins't a flick out job on the 06MY it still recharges whilst in the ignition. Also the sat nav on the move thing is available on the 05MY onwards as it is included with the firmware update on the 09-10 Nav DVD, it justs needs activating by your dealer.

The main differences between a 06MY and 07MY onwards vehicle are the different front seats that lack the shoulder adjustment due to the repositioning of the side airbags to within the seat. The electronic handbrake and terrain response selector. The key was moved to the dash and a top glovebox was added into a redesigned dash. All electronics were the same and are interchangeable. As you no doubt found whilst installing the ACM for your ipod the bits are just in a slightly different place...

Other than that mechanically they are the same vehicle. It was just a cosmetic update to coincide with the transfer from BMW to Ford ownership.

Thanks for the great summary Steve!

Just need to add a few more additional points to complete the answer:

1) cool seats
2) rear aircon vents + aux inputs
3) 07MY possible to fit deployable side steps!
4) electronic brake
5) T.R '01 1.8i Freelander. Grey/ grey
