England 2012 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Buckingham Blue
My First Range Rover

Hi,
Next Thursday I will collect my Range Rover and join the 'fullfatrr" fraternity.
I'm currently in the States driving...a couple of Range Rovers as shown and I own a Defender called 'Vera', but this will be the first time I have put my own money into a RR.
My wife has been in a Mercedes ML for a good few years which she was loathed to get rid of when I had 2 x company cars, but has always fancied a Range Rover. Tried a a few RR Sports, but the ride quality is just a bit harsh for our taste, and hence the Vogue. Wink

Hi,
Yes I've had a few Mercs over the years!
I'm getting one of the last L322 MY2012 cars. Hope they have learned to build them properly by then. Wink
The L405 is great car but doesn't represent great value yet as it is so popular Cool

Very nice. Thumbs Up

On the L322, one thing to look out for is rust on the tailgate , rear arches/ quarter. Seems to affect all L322's regardless of age.

Thanks, yes I had a good check over and all seems sound.
One area I did notice on a fair few of the cars I looked at was the top of the lower part of the tailgate the paint was wearing away (and some rusting) where the top part rubber seal frets against it.
Anyone used 'Heli-tape' or similar to prevent this fretting wearing the paintwork? Confused

A whole week with a Range Rover now and I've got the car cleaned up sorted to my own liking Smile
600 miles including a trip over to Norfolk and the consumption is a very reasonable 32mpg, exactly the same as the V6 ML we had up until last year.
Certainly is a very relaxing way to travel, and the dogs seemed very happy with the space and ride quality.
So far so good Very Happy

Very nice Thumbs Up

A set of 21" L405 wheels would look great on it. I just happen to have a set available Whistle

You are quite right, I'm sure they would look really good on the car as your wheels look very nice in the photos Smile
Howevever, I only ever look at the car for less than 1% of the time, but the ride quality of the lower profile tyres stays with you for 100% of the time you are driving Confused
I've run up to 23" rims on some previous cars, but with this limo on stilts, I'm going to stay at a maximum of 20" Surprised
Many thanks!
