Back to dealer after 1 week of ownership!

Only had it a week!

Front drivers door is catching on the front wing on opening/closing the door, with a loud metallic click! Some of the door paint has already rubbed away. On looking, panel gap between door and wing is too narrow, other side is much bigger.

Second issue is that the upper glove box won't open when button pressed, just a click.

Also, had my first experience of door not latching when closed.

On the bright side i have asked them to fit my fog guard for free, answer was yes. I have a 90 mile return trip to the dealer but they are having to register a new LR for me as. Courtesy car as they are all booked out !

Re: upper glove box

That might be normal behaviour.

On mine, you press the button and you get a click.

Then you pull the lid open against a resistance.

It happened on my previous L405 too.

Sorry to hear that.

I didn't think the upper glove box sprung open. I have to press the button and then give it a nudge. Perhaps I need to get that sorted too.

Didn't know you could get a fog guard - interesting extra! Perhaps you could get them to fit the dog guard while they have it too.
Very Happy

I have pulled the glove box forward/down and it doesn't move. I am not going to force it.

The dog guard/cargo barrier is a required accessory for me to transport the hounds. Already have the rubber boot mat and the fitted rear seat cover. You need an engineering degree to fit the dog guard, loads of brackets, bolts etc. the instructions are appallng and I had been quoted an hours labour to have it fitted at my local dealer (£108), it will now be fitted for free Smile

I have the door creak problem too as well as the lower tailgate not always opening correctly, front 12v port not working few other niggles.

Also had the 'DPF nearly full' message on the dash the other day, took it out for a long drive which cleared it. Not sure if it will reappear again.

Not had the chance to book mine in as I have just been too busy. Must get in soon.

I really hope there won't be any more problems. Sad . 2014 SDV8 Autobiography Cool

They have given me a nice new RRS to play with whilst the Full Fat gets some TLC! Not sure how long they will have it as it will have to go to the body shop.

Lovely drive, but I do prefer the FFRR!

Update from the dealer is that the issues have been addressed and the dog guard fitted and its now in the body shop - i suspect to have the bonnet/front wing adjusted and the paint work on the door addressed. Hopefully will be reunited at the weekend! 2019 SDV8 Autobiography in Byron Blue

My passenger door was catching the bonnet and scuffed the paint, bonnet was re-aligned and this immediately cured the issue I had closing it (had to drop it from around 1ft , now closes easily just link my old L322. I also have the rear lower door issue where around50% of the time it stops opening half way down, planning on getting the dealer to check it under warranty. Steve
