Replacing the twin subs

Has anyone replaced there 6.5 twin subs in the boot for something better?

I'm thinking of trying some Jl audio w3 in there but at 150 a pop wanted to make sure they'd work ok.

Going to get stage 2 bm54 upgrade soon too so they'd have a decent amount of power going into them

When I turn my system up the subs can't handle it but rest of the system is fine even after playing with the 80 hertz option on the dsp

So's mine (a 2005 model year) on a 54 plate - still has the touch screen and logic 7 all 2005 model year cars did. Unless yours is actually a 2004 model year that sat in a dealership unregistered for ages?

He has the MK4 sat nav upgrade, so can't be touchscreen.

I'm glad I have the BMW stuff as there are more upgrade options.

Worried about saving for a 4.4tdv8 and then being disappointed by the hifi after mine now.... Stage 2 mod is the way to go.

Perhaps Baris can do you a discount if you do both together.....

And he can fit an iPhone lead to the bm54 so you can play music from your phone... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

WOW Shocked The system i had in my 2004 Vogue was incredibly disappointing from day one! That in my 2012 4.4 is lightyears ahead in quality & volume of sound!

Have you ever listened to a Logic & system in 05> or pre 05AB models? That should elevate your issues Thumbs Up

Cheers Craig. I get where you are coming from. Mine was like singing through a blanket as standard. The bm54 stage 2 amp upgrade is very good. Really brings it to life. Can't believe the standard speakers do what they do.

A few members on here have said its better than the system in their 3.6 tdv8's. Just hoping it's better in the later ones but the brochures don't indicate any changes ?

That said, I need to hear one in the 4.4...... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I had the stage 1 first, and was impressed, so going from stock to stage 2 in one go will be quite a wake up call.

Looking forward to reading your thoughts....

how does this effect cars that have the separate DSP amplifier like mine? if your upgrading the amps in the BM54 radio unit but not the DSP amp that is actually powering the speakers is the difference really that noticeable?

Matt

The amp is in the BM54 radio module not the DSP. The dsp just processes the sound. What they tend to call them is technically wrong, but I stay quiet, but can be confusing.

I have the same system as you..... It's well worth doing.

There is a thread here about someone bypassing the amp inside it and replacing with another.....

I have dsp also. Dsp can only process sound from the quality of the line it receives, so improving bm54 power output will give the dsp a much better feed and better outcome in sound overall.
Or so I hope,.. As I have the same
