I am always interested in the gearbox woes so thought I would just post a 'no problem' one.

2004 TD6, tows 50% of the time c. 2.8T, 125000 miles and the gearbox has never seen a spanner, dont even know where it is. Still pulling strong and even think the thing may have been chipped in the 2 years before I acquired it as it is definitely quick off the mark and in overtaking.

So..... all good (kiss of death no doubt)

Also to add, in the 10 years I have had it, been serviced twice in 65000 miles, I know that is deplorable but it is really only here to tow! Feeling bad now so will treat it to a spruce up before I offlroad' it

ipwn, i agree, trying to force it into a gearbos flush! Nothing else works mind you.. passenger door superlocked and wont open, no airconditioning, parking sensors dont work, glovebox has broken, air suspension plays up.... need i go on, BUT gearbox good

You might find the gearbox is gone too once you get it running.  John
