I should have known better

I went to Liverpool today (by choice) using public transport. I should have known better.
So I buy a train ticket for a particular train but ask for an open return. Arrive in Liverpool only to be told I've been sold the wrong ticket for the train I've used and need to pay a small supplement.
So I pay the supplement and wander off to catch the bus to my destination. I get on the bus and ask if they sell a return ticket. Bus driver says no and I have to pay £3.60 for a shortish journey.
On the return journey I just miss the bus. No problems because the bus stop electronic info board tells me there is a bus at 9 minutes past the hour, then 18 mins, then 27 mins. I wait and there's no sign of either the 9 min or 18 min past the hour bus but you've guessed it at 8.27 3 buses turn up at once.
I get on the bus and pay another £3.60. The driver sees me pull out the earlier bus ticket with my coins and tells me I could have bought a day travel card for £3.90 instead of having just paid £7.20 for a return bus journey.
Bear with me, nearly there. I arrive at Lime Street only to find that my train ticket is only valid on Virgin trains and that I cant use it with any other operator! So much for the open ticket.
Big Cry Banging Head Big Cry Banging Head Big Cry
Next time I'm using the RR. Have no sympathy for me I should have known better.

Learned that before, they dont just rob wheels these days Very Happy

Only downside is m wary of taking a car worth more than 2p there so when ive had to go in i take the daily hack and make sure its not bee washed for a while, they then think its local and leave it alone Very Happy FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

The main problem with public transport is that one has to travel with........"The Public".

Fattie all the way for me. Especially when you look at the cost of a Virgin Trains standard open return to London (From B'ham International) at almost 200 quid. Cheaper to have a chauffeur driven limo for the day.

A return to Edinburgh cost £15 each... £60 for four of us to go. It took about 1.5 hours as it stopped at every damn station en route. The Fattie took about £20 of fuel and secure parking about £8.... How can public transport be more expensive than driving a Range Rover. You could factor in a days insurance, road tax and depreciation, Fattie still cheaper. Previously..

Thats because if they don't travel in packs they stand a good chance of being mugged! The one to always get is the one in the middle, the lead bus and the trail bus are usually first to get picked off!!
