So this weekend I went and bought a 2006 supercharged Range Rover, I'm very pleased with it in general, there's a list of things I need to get sorted but one thing in particular that I'm concerned about.

Every 25 seconds there is a strange clunking noise that I can feel through the car at idle. I timed it and it happens every 25 seconds or within a fraction of. It's coming from the near side off the engine bay and actually makes the dipstick move. The sound is similar to that of a tired gearbox clunking down in to first. If drives fine and once moving you do not notice it but it still worrying!

Any ideas

Mine does the same but not clunking revs die just a bit every 25 sec has done it for a year caused no probs?

Is weird how it happens exactly 25 seconds apart, I'm gonna have a mechanic pal have a look tomorrow.

Aircon compressor clutch cutting in?????

Try turning the AC off and see if it still does it....  Pete

Yep - AC kicking in and out to maintain temperature.
