I saw 'haylands' Pete's Range Rover

I was cruising west, along the m40 today... Sunday, near to m25 turn-off....and I could see a similar-ish silver coloured (to mine..) Rangie behind me, -middle lane! ( Embarassed ) .....and I was sort of waiting for it to pass me, when all of a sudden I heard what I thought was an American muscle car somewhere around my car, only to then see Pete's rasping exhaust'ed big bumpered FFRR whizz past, at about 70 (+x)mph with his new bumpers, and non-exhaust on.... Sort of made me jump!

He was like Wee-Wilkie-Winkie! Look! There he goes! Blink, and he gone!

Looking good Pete!

yes, i was sort of waiting to be passed by another silver one, (like mine,) -but it wouldn't overtake etc, then we were both blasted away, by Pete's 'lean green mean machine.'
there was no point trying to catch up with him, he was on a mission!

Yep, that was me... I had the cruise set for 73mph... it likes that speed... must of just sounded fast... go over 75 and the wheel wobble is horrible as I lost some wheel weights last time playing and haven't got round to getting them balanced again... Rolling Eyes must say the exhaust is really starting to Censored me off, it's just too loud....

Did just over 600miles Sunday and Monday, visiting mum for her 86th birthday and then our eldest daughter in Kent....

Must say FF's are few and far between up here but as you head south they get more and more prevalent, I did see a few but didn't spot any fullfatff stickers... Pete

My sticker is on, but you were probably vibrating with the exhaust, and couldn't see it!

In this last year I have covered just over 25K and although I have seen lots of Ang Overs, not one was sporting a fullfat sticker, Shocked , it can feel really lonely out there at times Sad But I live in hope that one day I will spot a fellow sufferer Laughing Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... sticker is same place as mine, only gonna be seen by people in small cars, at the traffic lights....

we need a special 'wave' to signal fellow members. -of 'non-tinted' cars....

i think ive only ever had two 'thumbs' Thumbs Up from similar coloured FFRR cars. But, i'm not really a 'first to wave' kind of guy,
is it not ettiquette to stare at 'anothers man's girlfriend.'

unlike VW beetle and classic mini drivers, they almost shout out the model, and BHP, and have a good leer! Bow down

i dont know what i would have done, had i had chance to actually see Haylands (Pete,) prooperly, in steady traffic. He might have thought i was a weirdo!

Shocked Why hide it? I have got the Orange, in yer face, sticker and it's on the bottom right side of the rear window, just where another driver will see it Thumbs Up This is an excellent forum and it needs to be promoted, I'm toying with commissioning another sticker, in reflective red and 3" high letters to stick in the middle of the rear screen, just haven't decided on the size, but it will be bigger Shocked Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Thinking earlier, as to gentlemans' gesture-ing to a fellow member, I don't really do it, but I have done on other unusual cars. And work vans etc

Which would be REALLY wrong?

a steering wheel wave,
a single thumb up. (Thumb down for RRS!)
An army salute,
a 'knowing' nod?
A mirror-fold? (That is so secret!)
Headlight flash.
Hoot.

-ps, am I sad?, I should be outside, enjoying life, not thinking about secret gestures!
-where is the blooming corkscrew?

I think that a mirror fold might be misread as to the ffrr having another electric fit Rolling with laughter You Know it happens Wink

But I will say that I was a member of the MGOC and they used to give a steering wheel wave to fellow MGer's, don't know if that still goes on as I haven't had a MG, since I ate the last one, sorry different story, I mean that I haven't owned one since I was a lad, 20 odd years ago, when I was, err, umm 1 Mr. Green Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer...
