mirror approach lights

I unlocked my car tonight and noticed neither of my under mirror approach lights are working Sad . Both bulbs look ok so i wondered if there was a common problem with them?
P.s mine is a 06my with rectangular mirror lights

Could just be the bulbs, as they don't stay on that long, sometimes I think that mine have blown, but they still work, therefore it's easy to not see them Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

I presume you have put LEDs in? They don't work! The flash is telling you there is not enough current draw so replace the bulbs and retest sir Thumbs Up

I believe that Craig and a few others have wired the puddle lamps in the mirrors to the lights in the door bottom, as they stay on a lot longer, being part of the interior lights. How many times have you unlocked the car in the dark, to have the puddle lamps go out just when you are close enough to see them. I find that you have got to be with in 3 feet of the door to gain any benefit from the light, and that is normally to show you what you are already standing in Shocked Evil or Very Mad Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Update- now sorted Smile

Believe it or not the replacement bulbs were 5w capless and the originals were 6w capless but looked identical. Fitted a pair of 6w bulbs and they now work as they should Thumbs Up
So a combination of the correct bulbs and a full reset has sorted them.
Thanks guys,especially Craig Thumbs Up
