Fuelling - slow

Could I ask does your RR take forever to fill, the pump clicking every few seconds ?
I've tried all manner of angles and different garages yet can barely get past half fill speed.
Question Many thanks
Paul

sounds like the fuel guard has been activated...there should be a plastic yellow thing in the boot that can reset it...should be info in the owners manual re this.. ... - .- -.

I get this! Really annoying! Happens at my local co op! I've checked to see if my guard had been deployed, no luck!
Then at other garages it fills no problem!!!

Turn the nozzle upside down, should then fill better. Thumbs Up

It's annoying as I can fill the toyotas at the HGV pumps in about 30 seconds flat Shocked There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

This happened to our old 2007 TDV8.

The filler hose had collapsed and was causing problems filling. There was a service bulletin out to the dealers about it. I printed it and showed them it when it was serviced and it was replaced FOC. Thumbs Up

L322 seems worse than most other LR's. It won't accept the commercial pumps nozzle as well, filler neck is just too narrow. A pain really, a proper car should be able to accept fuel properly. Wonder if we could replace the filler neck and pipe with a proper sized one, and without the fuel guard. Is all markets/years the same? Car's don't accept commercial pump nozzles, they make the commercial pump nozzles incompatible on purpose so you don't put it in lock the trigger on and walk away and have it spewing diesel all over the forecourt. They're designed to be sold to numpties.

If it's only a particular garage that keeps clicking out, then it's more likely just the pumps at that garage have had their shut off calibrated a bit too finely. Tipping it upside down helps, as does pulling the nozzle back out slightly. You can also mention it to the staff, if they get several complaints they'll get the pump manufacturer back out to test them.

it sounds more like a problem with a specific garage than your car.

Can also happen if the nozzle has been slightly deformed through use causing turbulence which triggers the shutoff. John

Mines the same doesn't matter what angle you put the nozzle you can only pull the trigger half way or it will click off, never a quick stop for fuel for me unfortunately. 2009(10MY) 3.6 TDV8 Vogue
