Help needed with boost noise from dash

Only started today but my TD6 seems to have developed a fault. When foot down on accelerator pedal and over 2k revs I'm getting a loud boost noise through the centre top of dash. Any advice

Noise sounds like what my Subaru impreza used to sound like but that was running silly power and had a boost gauge on dash.

Power seems the same and it doesn't seem to get any louder through the revs.

Thanks in advanced

Its not unknown on the BMW equiped motors for the inlet manifold to split though I've yet to hear of one on a FFRR. That said you would expect it to run like a bag of spanners.

Is it a Ptsssssstttttt noise or something else Question

Worth checking--- the EGR links to a large rubber pipe which in turn links to a large ali pipe which runs down the back of the radiator. On my TD6 this had a rubber hose chaffing on it which wore theough the alloy to the point the pipe became pourous. This Alli tube carriers the pressurised air from the turbo.. again may be worth a peep. I was stunned that the rubber wore through the ali and not vice versa. Thanks for above.

RR is running fine so hopefully not Manifold issue.

Noise is like a PTTSSSSSTTTTTTTTTT as you mentioned. only happens when foot on pedal and over 2k revs.

I'm not really sure where to start and think i'm best to book it into a RR Indy garage.

Can anyone reccomend any in North East? near middlesbrough

Thanks

Inlet manifold gaskets had worn causing the slight noise. just had call from garage only £22 for part. Said noise was only slight, but guess i'm very picky lol

Heads up for anybody else though

2 hours labour aswell though Very Happy

Also getting gearbox oil flushed and rear passenger dooe lock changed. Still not a massive cost and had a full check ready for my first winter in the RR.
