One for you film buffs

Question; Watching Quantum of Solace for the first time ! Is that section of road/tunnel in the opening sequence the same one used in The Italian Job (original) specifically when they push the e type etc off the edge?

Google is not my friend on this one only thing I could find was it is Lake Garda

Cheers Thumbs Up

As far as the tunnel goes, haven't got a clue, but I do know that the Range Rover tunnel was partly the underground car park at Smithfields Market, well the exit was Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

It was a DB5 Volante, plus e types thst were pushed off the road. The Muira drove into an excavator in the tunnel in the opening sequence. A brilliant film which I watch all too often.

the e types didn't go for a roll, they were repaired, and the red one is still on the road.

people now would be wondering if the minis were ever recovered. as I bet IF any one of the testing crashed cars (at crystal palace,) or the 'back of the coach' exited cars, were re-discovered, someone would buy them!
admittedly, for an exibit, but in Mini circles, they are famous!
however, we must never believe what we think we see!
cars from insurance companies, are often bought to be crashed into, blown up etc.

I remember the film Goldfinger, and Goldfingers' driver, the fat Samoan guy, drives into a scrapyard, in a new Continental (Lincoln type) and steps out, and it is crushed and flattened, (with a dead guy inside etc) those were hand built in the day, and are beautiful cars.

The simple answer to your question is no - they are different locations - the Quantum scene is down the East side of lake Garda - I've driven it a few times Thumbs Up

The Italian job scenes are up in the Alps Thumbs Up
