United Kingdom 2009 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Zermatt Silver
Newbie - 12 days in

Firstly, what a great forum, I've spent hours on here in the last few weeks and thanks for the responses to my questions.

Having not owned a car for more than 2 years in my 25 of motoring I had my 06 2.7 RRS for nearly 6 years which is a big testament to how much I liked it. Am always up for a new car but wouldn't part with it for anything other than an upgrade that had a Land Rover badge on it. Having set my sights on a 4.4 FFRR I soon realised that the budget wasn't going to stretch that far unless I went for big mileage and probably a colour combo I was less than happy with, so the search started for a facelift 3.6.

Called cars advertised with FSH to find a 40k gap in service history, found what looked like an ideal car that Stratstone were advertising, it took them 4 days to come back to me with an insulting px price and the news that they had decided not to retail the car at all as they had found too much wrong with it! Will no doubt end up for sale elsewhere in the very near future!

Eventually found an 09 59 Vogue SE in silver with FLRSH, only just out of extended warranty which I duly px'd the RRS for and have to say that to date I'm delighted. Also took out a 2 year warranty from a company that some on here seemed to have had good experiences with.

It instantly feels like the upgrade I was looking for, much quieter, quicker, smoother, the stereo is amazing, and lots more toys on it. Have already ordered a boot mat as per one of the eBay spots on here, plan to remove the side steps and mud flaps and will change the side vents for some colour coded autobiography ones when funds permit. Will also change the trim strip above the rear number plate to silver rather that the Brunel one currently there.

The Gliptone I have is not suitable for semi-aniline leather so will be picking up some of their foam cleaner and protection cream in the next few days.

Am trying not to think about rust and will explore the arches properly once the weather improves, so far just washed and waxed and waiting for the log book to come back to do a plate transfer.

I keep finding things on it or about it that I wasn't expecting and suspect it will keep surprising me for months to come.

Not the best picture!

Loving the forum, fingers crossed that the joy continues!

Steve

Very nice - welcome Thumbs Up

I've had my MY2010 3.6 VSE for 14 months and its been great, so wish you well with yours - I contemplated taking the side steps off for the 'clean look' but practicality meant that I kept them - glad I did for some of the older members of my family Thumbs Up

Thank you.

Will get some better pictures up when I can, am really pleased with it.

I am adamant that the steps will be coming off but have weirdly found myself using them!

Keep them on. They make it a lot easier and save the seat squabs from additional wear and sag. Thumbs Up

Looks good Thumbs Up

I'm not a fan of the steps - I had them when my kids were small, but wouldn't bother now. However, the longer you leave them on, the less likely you are to ever remove them

I agree!

Just waiting for it to stop raining and keeping an eye out for some lower wing panels in silver without holes in.

Would my car be zermat or Zambezi?

Nice car.

Your colour will be zermat, and if you look under the bonnet on the right had side about half way you towards the battery you will see a plate confirming this.

I've had my MY2010 for over two years now and love it. Had a 2010 RRS before this and a V8 4.4 petrol vogue before that and they are leagues apart

Thumbs Up

Welcome to the family, great looking FF and you'll only grow to love it more the longer you have it!

I've had mine for 2.5 years and it's been superb, I added the side steps and mudflaps to help the Mrs and my elderly Mum getting in and out so they are really useful and as others have said, the more you use them the less you'll want to remove them!
