Just wondering if any body had heard of new genuine droplinks failing.

The story is i had slight knocking so i bought new LR genuine links from rimmer bros. It Cured the problem and all was brill. Now allmost 6 mnths on the knocking has returned. Im assuming it's the links as it's a similer noise.

If the drop links went, then other ball joints and bushes can have worn as well. Only way is to get under and check all the ball joints / bushes.

In general, I've had very mixed results with ball joints and universal joints over the years. Some gen ones last no time at all, and some non gen last for ages. V8 or else ...

Agreed I changed my drop links and shortly after the bushes and ball joints needed looking at  09 TDV8 Westminster, Mariana Black, Rear seat entertainment, hatch bag and 2 slobbery mutts

Likely to be the bottom ball joint on the front arm these seem to be the first to go imho.

After i swapped my drops I needed to do the front arms, also check the track rod ends as these take some hammer! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Just had my drop links and front arms replaced following an MOT failure. All covered under extended warranty but 2011MY 4.4 TDV8 has only done 70k. As others have said, they probably won't be the only items requiring attention. The noise I was getting was a loud creaking noise. 4.4 TDV8 Vogue Baltic Blue MY11
