Pretty sure you will find if you have one it has to be legal but it's not a legal requirement to have one.

You can have a spare that is totally bald and it still has no relevance to the mot, it is simply not a testable item.

you can have -no spare at all!

not even a can of trye foam, or even breakdown cover, or even a jack!

if you have blonde hair, you dont even need to know anything!

A plate that fails to show a number plate makers name and postcode isn't illegal.

That section of law is only relevant to vehicles manufactured and fitted with plates after it became law.

i think you mean, 'cars made after sep 2001.' ie fullfats..

older cars can have older plates, and stick on bonnet type ones (e type) silver and black pre73, but us in our rangies, need the modern laws...
