I dont understand this! but it's starting to get annoying

could some one shed some light on this before I call LR or blow my car up.

Yesterday my vehicle went into Neutral whilst I was driving this has happened before as you will see on previous posts.
Typical ping no gear select neutral on the display high low range light flashing etc etc ...

Now on this occasion when I placed her into P whilst waiting for a flat bed pickup she was still able to be moved as if she were in Neutral. After getting to the garage and getting the car off the Trailer she went into Gear no problem ?????
So today I went to the garage to see what the problem is (they have no idea) they had a look at the front diff this is in the recall range but was done back in 08, they said it looked OK they plugged her into test book and came up with a few faults not related to transmission except this Transmission emergency program fault .. but they cleared that then re-checked to see if any faults were showing from the box and they were not. I am at my wits end with this bloody car as I never know when it's going to go into Neutral whilst driving (not safe for my 3 year old)

Now for info I have replaced the high low range motor (not cheap) didn't fix the problem
we have checked the gear selector etc no problems there either ....
As said front diff checked OK

I am now wondering if the car for some unknown reason keeps trying to put herself into tow home mode and that the problem is an electrical intermittent problem any advise from any one.

pls bar in mind I am not in UK and there is not a LR dealer in this country so going to another garage wouldn't help.. Big Cry

As I am on a iPad I can't see what vehicle year/engine you have. It does sound as if the vehicle thinks the 'tow me' fuse has been fitted - which would point to a wiring fault/short on that system.... Land Rover Addict

I've driven mine 500 miles with the tow fuse in (Left in by french garage who didn't tell me they had put it in). It doesn't totally disable drive but does provide a message on the dash which I've promptly forgotten what it said.

I expect somehow it disabled 4x4 and low range. 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS

The other thing it could be, is a faulty gear selector.....or even a loose cable at the selector/gearbox end.... Land Rover Addict

Thrasher,

Its a 2004 4.4 petrol with 41,000 miles on the clock .
\
the other faults that were said to be none related were

open circuit c099/9 c2040/31
connectors C 099, C 2040 , C 0585 , C587

these were cleared on test book and didn't come back ...

any idea what these do relate to.
