L322 2008 headlamp lens replacement help please.

Hello all,

So the lenses on my 2008 L322 4.2 SC are looking a bit scruffy now, I've polished them a couple of times but would like to replace them.

Part are available, I know how to get the old ones off (heat and pry) but how do I seal the new ones back on?

If the answer is butyl tape, does anyone know which type/thickness/diameter that I need please?

Thanks in advance!

I'd also be interested on the removal and re-fit process for the headlight lenses.

Whilst mine don't need replacement they have a couple of dead insects laying in the bottom of both, which annoys me every time i wash it!

Sikaflex if you want to make it hard to remove them again, or just plain old silicone

One thing to note, that video doesnt tell you... USE gloves!Do NOT touch the chrome surfaces with your skin or you will tarnish the finish inside..
Basically, the chrome inside is not made to withstand fingerprints/grease or other foreign objects found on your fingers... The finish will turn black over time where you touch it... Thumbs Up

If you decide to polish the lenses, you really need to recoat the lenses with a UV protectant… 👍
