Radio/ sound problem

Hi, this is my first post on the forum- Hi all Very Happy
I have an audio fault in my FF. It began a couple of weeks ago with the radio developing an intermittent fault ( no audio) and random flashing of the display, lasted a few seconds and then all returned to normal.
I now have random flashing of the display, orange light random too although the sat nav an all other functions are working ok. The audio is the only problem, it keeps cutting out after a couple of seconds Radio, nav etc.
I have checked connections in the boot and everything is dry and appears to have no corrosion.
Tonight I looked out the window of the house and noticed that the Land Rover logo was illuminated although there had been nobody near the car for hours(it has now gone off again) - any suggestions?

Thanks,
Stewart-d

That sounds as if you've had some water in the boot area, where the sat nav DVD unit sits (passenger side behind panel), on the earlier ffrr's with the BMW system the Land Rover logo is generated by the nav system in the boot, and I can't imagine that L/R changed this on later models.

But I don't know enough about the later systems Sad But I'm sure that someone will pop up with the answer soon Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

It's possible that you are getting RT interference from nearby transmitters, wireless broadband routers or some similar electronic equipment.
There was a thread on this site a while ago (two years back, if memory serves me right) about the side-effects from the switch on of the new 4G mobile phone signals, causing similar random dropouts on the audio systems of our FF Denso touchscreen sat nav units.

Could be that you have a similar problem in your area.
