so I found a button on my steering wheel, left hand side bottom, which looks like the heated steering will on/off. when i push it then let go, i have a red light come on for a second or so then go off. is this what is supposed to happen or is there a problem in the circuit somewhere?

Deffo the heated wheel button but the "on" warning light should stay on, so you know it's on so you do have a fault Many thanks

Been looking at one myself.

Do a search as there has been an identical thread just about a year ago on this.

I'm after a nice new steering wheel.

I've just bought that second hand one from JPS off here. Wifey wondered why I needed a new one. I politely explained I didn't need it, but I wanted it. Nothing wrong with the current one, works fine. Giving it to my brother in law whose heated one is broken.

Sorry comports, but I believe your diagnosis is flawed. Foobar'd of FUBAR'd to give it it's correct acronym (F Up Beyond All Recognition) describes a component or system that one expects to work, but has suffered a catastrophic failure. On here we talk about Land Rovers which regularly suffer from failure, so I think the correct technical term is SNAFU (Situation Normal All F ed Up)
