Depends if they have been put on with silicone which can come off with a bit of elbow grease , if he has used some other serious glue then it could cause harm to the paintwork,

Thanks Mick. They are after market ones from a company called Famous Four in Lincs. If they have used a serious adhesive, and it is impossible to tell. The chrome looks as though it has been attached professionally-i.e. not a DIY job. Could I have the chrome mirror covers removed, and, if damage has been caused to the paintwork, buy some colour-coded mirror covers and attach them in their place? |

They are usually glued on with 3M strip adhesive. Try using a hairdryer to heat the area and soften the glue whilst gently teasing the part away from the vehicle |
