Hi Guys,

I'm wondering whether the rest heating feature was removed from 2005 (55) onwards as it doesn't work in mine... I checked the 2006 owners manual on Topix and it is still listed in the manual, but wouldn't be the first time the manual has been wrong about something.

So does anyone have a 55+ that can confirm whether the Rest Heat function is still there please?

I don't see a button for it in my 06

Is this not the 'MAX' button

Uses residual engine heat to keep cabin warm. Up to 15mins I believe.

I'm sure someone will clarify.

Might me, my 5 series BMW which is basically the same system had a res button where the heated seat buttons are on the RR.

I will try the max when i go and get the wife at lunch time and provide feedback.

i can confirm that pressing max after turning off engine and ignition does indeed provide residual heat.

Tried it on mine and works until drivers door is opened.

Same here with the "Max"? button.
Ours is a tdv8 diesel though.

Damn. OK thanks guys. I assumed the feature was only on the BMW engine but obviously it just doesn't work on mine.

I wonder what's broken that causes it not to work. I've had the aux coolant pump fail before, the rest heat function still runs, just blows cold air.

Will dig the code reader out tomorrow I think...
