+1 for power line adaptors though it will may depend on what circuits are in use for what, I have a receiver on one house circuit and the transmitter on another. Works.

Don't know if it would work in my garage though, which has about 100ft of cable on it. Out at the moment, can try when I get back  There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

To Quote me " the router (internet) is in a portacabin" I don't know where you lot got the house from... the nearest house is quarter of a mile away

We tried the super dooper X10 internet through the mains things, and on opening the box it said "plug directly in to the wall socket, NOT an extension lead", so I plugged it into the wall socket in the portacabin, and the wall socket in the caravan..... and ........ .......... It didn't like the hundred foot extension lead linking the caravan to the portacabin So they obviously don't like twisted cable, it must naff the signal up......

But on a brighter note I installed them at home and did away with the wireless link between the office and the router in the lounge, and it's going way faster.... Just like the speed that it used to run at before the socket in the office went Pete Tong and the Modem / Router had to be moved to the master socket ....... Strangely though the hard wired phone in the office still functions normally, bloody 'puters  Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

To be honest your best bet is to get a long enough stretch of terminated cat6e cable as that will run the distance, is shielded and you can run it in conduit as well to give it some frost protection.
