Has anyone ever tried to fit one of these to the boot?

I'm suspecting that the electric tailgate with its sensors and split action etc is going to prevent it being able to be used but I need to find a way to securely keep the tailgate locked in a partially open position for when the dogs are in the back and left in the car at dog shows.

And before you say "you shouldn't leave dogs in cars" this seems to be the preferred method for people who take their dogs to shows but need to leave them in the car for brief periods before their next appearance in the competition ring. Almost all of the other owners seem to use this device but of course they haven't all got complicated electric split tailgates.

Any experience or other ideas?

The tailgate will stop if you press the button again, so it's possible to have it partially open.

No idea if one of these would fit though.
