Seat Belt Bong Disable

Hi Folks,

Let me preface this by saying:

1. I'm new here having migrated over from Defender2 and this may have been done already.

2. This is not an original solution but the seat belt bong irritates me. Not because I don't wear one but, well you all know why.

The cure I have discovered is:

1. To sit in the car. I closed the door.

2. Ignition on, ie press start/stop without your foot on the brake.

3. Then insert the driver's seat belt in the receiver and then release it.

4. Do this eight times. There will be no sounds.

5. Then insert for the ninth time. At this point, there should be a single ping sound.

Then undo the seatbelt again and hey presto, no more nagging seat belt sounds as you move off etc.

As I say this is not my solution but one I found on another forum. I couldn't find it searching the L405 here, so I thought I would post.

My car is a 14 reg Vogue SE 4.4.

Simon

Just so you know, it disables the seatbelt warning pictograms in the dash display too.

That's odd. I still get the red warning symbol on the display, just without the noise. Unless the pictogram is something else.

Yup. I tried that too and the nine times thing switched it back on.

Didn't work on my 2011 L322. Tried several times and got fed up with 20 repetitions.

It definitely works in the L322. I did it to all of mine, including the MY11 I had.

You need to fit black wheels sir Whistle That way the ign switch bong no longer works Whistle Whistle Whistle

Alternatively, you need to Change the CCF file... Thumbs Up

I'd rather have the bong than black wheels! Ron B. VK2OTC
