High mileage for a 3.6TDV8

Hello. Does anyone here have experience with higher mileage (150k miles) 3.6 TDV8 FFRRs? Is this sort of mileage a cause for concern on a well serviced vehicle or something not to be too worried about? The consensus in another recent thread was that vehicles that don't get used much can tend to have more issues. These vehicles are in to my price range now and potentially a better option than a pre 2006 low(er) miler / cheaper one. Andy

Thanks Rosco, exactly what I was wanting. I trawled through the forums but didn't spot that. Looks like turbo could be the main weak spot.

There is a LOT of debate on the TDV8 both good and bad, I had an RRS one and it was a flying machine but unfortunately it was an RRS so was Censored . Had no issues with the engine though Thumbs Up

Too many varables to guarantee longevity but mine has 186000, been regularly serviced but may go pop tomorrow, who knows, I just drive it and enjoy it knowing I haven't paid the earth for it . Just give it the beans now and then to keep it 'clean' Thumbs Up

mine is nearly at 152K and recently had it re-mapped and it has a new lease of life when needed. Goes really well and is serviced every 10k by myself, but use a local indie when needed/can't be bothered for other stuff. Regards

180k here (2007 TDV8) - just had a fuel pump failure - otherwise been running well & about to spend some time and money sprucing it up

238k gives me hope Smile

Very interested to hear this. Can you be a bit more specific about what constitutes 'usual wear and tear'? ie just oil changes, brakes etc or do you include in that new turbos, EGRs, engine etc? Very Happy 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE

In my case, on a mere 180k, I've had:

Usual tyres/brakes
Three sticking calipers (one fixed under warranty)
Some washer jets clogging up & non-return valve failed on rear washer
Usual TPMS issues
Heated seat wiring failed (warranty fix)
Alternator & battery (about the same time, alternator may have knackered the battery) (warranty fix) - 84k
Corroded brake lines (fixed pre-recall) - 122k
Boost hose - 128k
OSF track rod end - 131k
Rear mount suspension bushes - 163k
Fuel pump (at 176,666 miles Evil or Very Mad )

Nothing too much in my case.

I have not had the transmission oil changed.

Edit to add some details and suspension issues
