Does anyone know the major differences between HSE and Vogue spec (on a 2007 TDV8). All I can find online is no rear heated seats, no heated steering wheel and no sat-nav on the HSE. The HSE has a 7 speaker system rather than 14. Some people have mentioned that the seat leather is softer on a Vogue - is that true?

An HSE 2007 TDV8 cost £54k but a Vogue cost £62k. That seems a big difference but it looks like very few HSEs were sold compared to Vogues. Am I missing some bigger differences between the 2 specifications?

Exactly They do exist but there isn't much info out there.

Maybe its to do with Land Rovers marketing strategy - HSE Range Rovers were not seen as enough of a step up from a top spec Disco or Sport. They must have cost virtually the same to build as a Vogue.

I would doubt that many were ordered, possibly some for government services. I would doubt there would be much difference in comparably maintained/mileage versions in the second hand market, if you could find one. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Go for Vogue/Vogue SE or AB.

Like Gaz says, the HSE is best avoided if you can. I had an 07 HSE and it was as you say, no Nav, no heating in the back seats, no heated wheel, bottom line stereo, all a bit poverty spec. Fine if it was a Fiat Panda but a RR is expected to have rather more luxury.

I have a 2004 HSE with heated rear seats and heated steering wheel.

I have a 03 HSE, the only down spec'd items I can work out are:
No wood trim just black textured vinyl, or grey textured paint finish
Firm grey leather and not nice soft leather, but hard wearing.
No heated rear seats
No RSE
No heated steering wheel.

But I have sat nav and heated front seats My Motto: If you are going to have one, have a BIG one!

Seems maybe that perception of an HSE is a bit different to the actual differences wrt a Vogue, particularly if a number of options were checked.

Yes, perhaps I should have mentioned that pre 06MY cars were closer in terms of spec, especially since so many people ordered the extras.

It's the touch screen cars from 06 to 09 which were much farther apart in terms of spec. I don't think the HSE survived into 2010MY.

There's much less difference in cost between specs when buying used, so you may as well find one with all the extras you'd like.

There was a Hse and se spec available to police and gov services to be ordered. Also in the roi I think you could still get hse for a while as a spec level.

But in the rest of the world, the HSE can be a much higher spec. That's the case for NAS, but I don't know about the rest.
