Give me reasons why my friend SHOULD NOT get his SUPERCHARGED RR lpg converted !!!

My own view is that why have a supercharged if the running cost is an issue ? may as well got a TD ?

Because with LPG you can have the best of both worlds. Decent performance with the economy of a mondeo. Rather than the performance of a mondeo with the economy of a slightly slower mondeo.

Fair point ! Didnt look at it that way !!!

Are there any "issues" with LPG ? Would you know a rough costing for a decent system, ? the one he is haveing is only 2k fitted ? seams cheap to me ?

I heard about big issues with the Jag Motor and LPG Conversions!

Something with the cylinder head ( sorry,dont know the technical word in english) was the problem

I guess its the lack of suitable lubricant to the injectors, other issue used to be the lack of lead promoting faster wear to the valves but surely that has been addressed in the current day and age. 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS

I find the resistance to LPG very bizzare. Almost like how I struggle to justify how much I hate Diesel.

I've yet to read/hear/see any specific reasons not to use it. Add to that, if you save 1-2k per year and you have a problem after 5 years that results in a 1k repair bill surely that's still a good deal?

I wonder whether it could be the petrol industry planting seeds of doubt?

This info seems very sales biased with lots of may and could about what wear may happen depending on if your engine is made of cheese.

i'm all for lpg, in fact i wanted a petrol [still do Neutral ] and lpg conversion when i was looking for my RR...two things i didnt like much was the loss of the spare wheel space and the exclusion of travelling via the eurotunnel.. ... - .- -.
