3.0's do definitely go bang, and quite regularly by the sound of it.
on the way to Le Mans this year one of the D4s in our convoy went bang. Snapped its crank due to bearing seizure, something to do with the bearing shells rotating in the seats. apparently I've heard that they need to be tabbed shells and LR decided in their wisdom that they were not going to put the tabs on them for some reason, so they can move in the crankcase and cause the crank to seize up.
Anyhow it needs a new engine at around 30k, with FMDSH mostly used on motorway runs. But not my car, was RichTDV8's There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
