I have used Mac's for years and would never go back.

They perform better, do not crash, less susceptible to virus, look better, etc.......

The only problem is that, once converted, you tend to get the rest of the gadgets such as the Ipad!

After using Windows for years and having to put up with it crashing, loosing data, getting viruses I moved over to a Mac Desktop last year and I wouldn't go back.

They take a bit of getting used to, but once you get your head round it they are really not that difficult

Edit:

First car was a Hillman Super Minx....Cost £5.00 Thumbs Up

Hello Gentlemen - I have a similar computer Christmas present question...

... My son (aged 10) who already has an iPhone4 (I know - don't ask) says he would like a 'netbook' for Christmas.

I really have no knowledge when it comes to computers and can usually only make my laptops last 6 months before breaking them one way or another. His mother also has a laptop.

After quickly looking a netbook at PC World they appear to be nothing more than a tool to operate the internet and don't offer any other computer benefits a young child may want to use for school homework etc.

Would it be a better idea to just spend a little more and get a basic laptop computer for him, rather than a netbook, so he doesnt need to use ours?...

...and if so what computer would you (that do know what you are talking about) recommend?

Any thoughts /advice is appreciated Thumbs Up

My first car was also a Triumph Herald, IIRC I paid £275, but them spent about £1000 rebuilding it.

Maybe we can compare having a Mac rather than a PC as
Having a Range Rover rather than a normal car...

More seriously, I have a Mac for 2 years, I use it for my job and I'm realy happy to have it. I can't say I would'nt be satisfied with a PC.
Just my Mac started 24h/24 never crashed in two years.

There is irrationnal things, and I'm pretty sure your daughter wouldn't be happy if Santa gives her a PC....
