Not a problem here. Too many idiots stay in the right lane at well below the speed limit even though the law says to keep left - so the way past is on the left. I've never seen anyone booked for not staying left - it's 2 points and $325. Ron B. I think there could be a lot of debate about what constitutes a "queue of traffic" too. How far ahead does a car have to be for it to be a queue?

Having looked at it again The BMW takes a little bump in the road just before he veers left - I imagine he only had one hand on the wheel, Probably had a bald tyre or two and lost traction and then complete control on hitting the edge.

The majority of motorways here are two lane which contributes to better lane discipline. On the three lane motorways there is a carry over from the two lane and, although not perfect, there is less reluctance to move over to the inside lane. I think the derestricted motorways in Germany help the lane discipline there for a number of reasons

yes, i heard that, but continue with that theory, and one day, you will indeed be using -an undertaker! but going back to the guy in the snow, how did he know the Police were keeping the lane open, and didnt want him to pass. surely they should have used their rear display. 'dont pass' etc. i hope they got sprayed by another passing motorist though, not that i think all traffic cops are numpties. ...only most of them. |

We couldn't figure out what they were doing - we actually thought they were looking for something in the central reservation.
