Should I go back to rr ?

Hi guys need some opinions regarding new car.
I currently have a Audi A7 black edition and as much as I love it I seem to miss the rr. I had a rr 4.2 sc and it was a lot on fuel so decided on a change and ended up in Audi. But still keep going back to Range Rover. If I were to change should I go for 3.6 tdv8 or stretch to 4.4 tdv8. As long as it has facelift and not so high mileage I would be happy. My 4.2 was a 2005 model so looked old and replaced a whole lot of stuff like transferbox , compressor , brakes and tyres etc. Is the newer models 2009/2011 more reliable. Sorry for all the questions just need some info from other owners. Thanks for your time. Chris.

I wouldn't worry about the mileage; diesels need to be worked to get the best out of them in my opinion. The difference between them are few but significant so would say the 4.4 TDV8 is the one to go for.

If you are stuck on low mileage, the dealership network is still selling them and as long as it has been in the network and no more than five years old, it will come with the two year LR warranty which can be extended.

Hi thanks guys for your input. I think the 4.4 tdv8 might be the way to go. Like I said miss the rrff and think it would be the best move to go back into one. Just need to get the right one. The last one was silver and might be looking at a grey or black this time. Thumbs Up

Grey is easier to live with everyday. I've got a black one and they do look good when just polished but you'll find yourself washing and drying it much more often. Thumbs Up

I know that only to well with my Audi A7 as that's black and it does look good black but nightmare to keep clean.

Audi v FFRR

Wouldn't go for a Q7 or Q5 against an FFRR.
Only Audi that has me remotely tempted is the new RS6.
4 litre twin turbo with 0-60 in 3.7 seconds.
Only other true trans continent vehicle which will deliver you fresh.
I suspect my licence would not last long however with a new RS6.

There is only one answer - YES.

I've just been through the same thing. The audi's are not thoroughbred 4x4's, ..I've done it with Audis, Jeeps, and even Audi and BMW estate cars and always end up back in a FF or a Disco

I did think about the new SQ7 this time because I've previously owned a V8TDI Touareg and the Audi well made, has great tech and the 4.0 seems epic but a standard one pulled up alongside me at the lights, he looked up at me and I could see what his eyes were telling me.....so I went and bought another FFRR Laughing

I had a Disco 3; not the start to the story of an answer you'd have thought. I left it for an A8 Tdi. It was a fantastic car and did 99% of what I needed it to do. If you don't plan to leave the tarmac, I'd be leaning towards staying with Audi and either a Quattro avant, saloon or Q-series car.

If you, on the other hand, need something with a bit of muscle now and then or you do venture away from the black top now and then, the range rover is always going to win.

A Q7 was on my list but I was disappointed in the lack of interior space considering it's so big on the outside. Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

All the 4.4 tdv8 are just out of my price range. Seen a nice grey 10 plate 3.6 tdv8 with 69000 on the clock. Anyone think I'm mad to trade A7 in for it when it's given me no grief over the year or get the ffrr ? What would you do?

As I said above.."are you leaving the tarmac" ? If not, the A7 is a good choice.

On the other hand I am really happy with my 3.6 and it has just over 73k on it Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

I'm happy with the audi but keep going back to Range Rover. Is the 3.6 a good drive. Think the one thing is the audi lacks space where the rr has plenty and is a good all rounder.

I'm more than happy with my 3.6 - it does all I ask of it. I've had a couple of low cost niggles but they've been sorted. You will hear some comments of turbo fails and other items but as new models come out, leopards change their spots!

It won't go like your A7 but if you accept it's 900kg heavier and a different beast, then a late model 3.6 will be good. There are advantages of waiting until the 4.4's are in your budget such as the 8 spd box and digital dash plus modern updates such as DAB radio.

Mine has a 2010/2012 update front and rear, a set of L405 21" wheels and with the OEM iPod kit (not great but worth it IMHO) it's good for me.

Friend with a 4.4 tdv8 went from a td6 and the difference is huge, he drove mine and admits the actual drive isn't that different. I paid £22k....he's paid £39k....his isn't £17k better than mine Thumbs Up Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

I know as I know what it's like to drive as I had a 2005 sc with a few problems but I know with age a lot of the niggles have been sorted. Plus with the face lift it looks like a totally different car to my 2005 sc.
