well the gearbox on my 2003 hse autobiog is getting worse question is do i sell or get it repaired ive had a quote of 17oo pounds for tq and recon box fitted its done 140.000 miles and runs well with no other probs the real problem is i dont no what its worth ideas please or should i bite the bullet

sell it with no problems would probably get you around £5k...as is, a lot less..

then what do you get next? might be something with other problems that will cost money..

i would keep and try and get the repair cheaper maybe,,, ... - .- -.

You'll get hardly anything for it now, depending on your budget, repair and keep it if the rest is good enough.
Repair and sell to an other "victim" if you expect the rest to go sour also. 140 k would mean selling for me anyway. But there are people on here that have done 200k. Anyway, wish you strenghth.

Try Birch 4x4 in liverpool they have done a few members mine was only £1200
place is a hole but I have had no issues since (touch wood). Mine was a blue one!

I've spent about £1700 on my car (so far) this year. I've had it for 100k of its 145k miles so I know what has and hasn't been done. I intend to keep her going for as long as possible, using the superb help from this site to do so.
As Stan kind of suggested, changing could lead to a list of other problems. If you love the car, keep it going.

At least you know its one thing which is sorted, as said at least you will get proper money for it if you sell it now, and an invoice for the job done should help the sale if that is the way you want to go so keep hold of that  There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
