I found that reflashing the module with the iiD tool resolved the issue re the address book.

I thought the Sat Nav comment was a joke - anyway, it probably should have been - the FFRR SatNav isn't particularly good and the latest available maps are 2012 IIRC. There are significantly better (and cheaper) 3rd party options available, either a TomTom unit, or something like Waze on a phone.
