Well, credit where it is due, I'm happy with Lloyd Land Rover in Kelso. I've been going there since 2000 (when it was Croall Bryson) and am on first name terms with the service reception, as my cars have provided so many opportunities to visit...

Just in case someone at JLR is reading and is interested, I wonder if they are overdoing the requirement for dealers to have ever larger and fancier showrooms and to "upgrade" them every few years. According to the Telegraph the oldest Jaguar dealer (in London, has two Royal Warrants) is giving up because it cannot/does not want to meet JLR's demands, presumably to move to a big site somewhere away from its current place. I have no experience of them, but on the face of it that seems a shame. I also think it is a pity that smaller, family business-type dealers with roots in the areas they serve and an incentive to look after their customers are being squeezed out in favour of ever bigger chains. There must come a point where showroom changes are a waste of money, which has to be recovered from customers either in excessive charges or diminished service. Only Range Rovers since 1988

I'm not happy with Williams in Manchester. Specifically, I think their workshop is very poorly managed and technical quality a bit shoddy from my experience. Which is shame because it's only a couple of miles from my office. I'm that fed up that I'm now looking for other main dealers in Manchester/Lancashire to take my RR and Defender to. Any recommendations of professional and consistent service would be much appreciated.

Carrs in Truro where fantastic when I bought mine.

Couldn't have treated me better even though I was buying a 7 year old L322 and the L405 has just been released. Couldn't recommend enough.
