Can you educated folk give me a clue on what the problem would be if I can smell 'burning clutch' from the right side exhaust?

My first thought with burning smells is that the brakes might be sticking, are any of the wheel centres warm/hot after you have been driving? The rear brakes only come on under heavy braking or when the car is heavily loaded and are prone to this, changes of pads without the pistons being clean enough or where the dust seals are damaged can cause it too.

Do you have a DPF? That can cause smells out of the exhaust too, if you stop while it is burning off filtrates. Only Range Rovers since 1988

There was a bit of white looking smoke when I first noticed it, but that disappeared as quick as it arrived and hasn't happened all day. Now the smell is still slightly there but zero smoke........

Agree with the above - try brakes first. Take it for a long drive then squirt water on all 4 wheels - they will all steam a bit but the very hot one will be like a volcanic vent hole
