I love my plain 2011MY Vogue! Yep, I didn't get all the toys you can add but as a car it rocks! Why? Well over the weekend I drove around happy as anything, not a problem in the snow and ice. It's what the car is made for with a bit of comfort. All around people were having problems, that was my what made me smile. What did was the other RRS and FFRRs, they were everywhere around where I live. But they had big and fat wheels. 20" with low pro road tyres, wheel spinning all over the place, I couldn't believe it! Yes, I felt slightly smug as a RRS pulled over to let me by as he struggled in the snow. I know they can all be fixed by changing the wheels and tyres, but will they? No! Hey worst they care about is what the next door neighbour thinks.

Maybe I'm wrong and you can tell me so. I saw an autobiography 2010MY. Looked in and actually don't like the perforated seats as much as mine. Maybe when the summer hits I'll change my mind if I'm sweating in my seat but so far I'm mire than happy.

You bought a GBP65000 vehicle and call yourself a cheapskate??? I dunno if that's the right term. Personally I don't see the sense in blowing a huge chunk of change and then skimping on the last 5-8%. Just my opinion.

Make sure you put those budget tyres on it too. Oh and obviously leave the Air Con off all year to save those pennies.

If I was going to keep the car a long, long time then the standard Vogue is better IMHO.
No perforated seats for kids to rub the chocolate into.
No extra toys to go wrong out of warentee.
All the bits you need for a nice car.

I have to admit, I'd leave the 19s on too.

got to agree re perforated seats - chocolate, mud, wee and vomit is a total pain to remove - plus I prefer non perforated - more in keeping with a classic car and a gentleman's club - perforated seats are ok in a sports car and if you don't have children or old relatives...

Really was just killing time on the most overpacked train leaving Euston last night. And fancied sharing my joy of my Vogue for something to do, knowing in my mind a made the right choices for me.

Steve, in my opinion I didn't skimp on 5 - 8% - got exactly the car I wanted and that was pretty much my point. I didn't want to ruin what LR had designed and built by putting on some massive rims and low pro tyres, if I was doing that I'd choose a Bently continental, Aston Martin or similar.

I'm am cockerhoop happy with it and think it's going to bring me many miles of happiness. Got all the options I wanted and didn't get the ones I felt were just throwing money away as I'd never use them. Just because I'm buying a RR doesn't mean I want to just plough thousands extra in on stuff I don't want - it's the reason I bought new, I get the choices. It's my car for now don't give a toss about the resale in 3 years and who's going to buy it, it'll get traded in for the next toy at that time.

I got passanger seat memory as thought it's something I'd use and would ensure I only need to set the seat once then it'll always return to that pos when I want it too. Didn't get RSE as don't believe I want my girls sitting glued to the TV all the time, when we're out and about theres plenty of other stuff to look at. etc, etc.

The title was supposed to be sarcastic, I don't actually think I'm a cheapskate but do think I've done the right thing for me and saved myself 13k + in the process. I personally prefer my car to the higher spec Autobiography model, prefer the wheels, the fact it's not so bling on the front with chrome trim splitter and fog light surrounds, like my seats better. Ok maybe in a hot climate I'd think cooled seats were worth the perforated seats but in Endgland I don't.

Right think I've gone on enough, think it's clear I love the car I've got and sorry for those offended it's only my opinion. Many like different things that's why there are many choices... Get what you like and blow what other people think.
