Hi!

Our 02 plate v8 l322 would not start in Park this morning. All electrics work. Got no error messages. Put it into neutral and it started. Any ideas on why this would be?
I have a new battery to fit because sometimes I get the hdc inactive messege pop up for a second sometimes and I notice the lights dim and get brighter, I know it's due a new battery too. Just replaced the battery in the key too as was getting low battery key message.
Temperature was very cold last night too. Had car started for 10 mins in drive, turned off and restarted in Park fine.

Could just be the inhibitor switch starting to play up. If it does it again, just check if the 'P' light is lit on the instrument panel.

Hi. Tar yeh I didn't think to look for that. Battery is going to be changed today so hopefully it's that.

Update on this thread. Changed battery which made no difference to the fault, although it did need changing anyway. Looks like it is the inhibitor because when it won't start in park the p is not on the dash. Wiggle the gear stick and it pops up.
