If I was in the Market for a new TV I'd be tempted to go down the 3d route, I know there's not much stuff out there at the minute in 3D but within 6months we should have alot more

I have to say the picture on the new LG 1080 HD 42" is very sharp indeed and even normal DVD's appear to be HD like. This is compared to the excellent Sony Bravia 1080 HD 40" LCD in the living room.

BlueRay Discs played via the new PS3 on the LG LCD are amazing quality!

PS: Football via Virgin Media/Sky Sports is not very good though - I guess LCD is not great at fast moving sport.

And to go with your shiny new TV buy yourself one of these:

Netgear EVA9100 or the Eline EVA9150.

I've got a couple in the house, although for 1080p streaming they need a wired network.

I just bought a 40" Samsung LED a couple of weeks ago, so far, I'm really impressed by the quality of the picture, sound quality is crap though, mainly due to how small the speakers are, there's what I presume to be a small woofer on the back but the sound still isn't fantastic. I've plugged some external powered speakers into the headphone socket for now so at least the sound quality is acceptable. Haven't got round to setting it up through the surround sound yet. Overall, it's a good all round TV. 2006 Mercedes CLS

But really finding it hard to fight the urge for a S/C...

Yep we did the same...Samsung LCD 54" in living room with Samsung Surround System....quality! Thumbs Up

We also have a Samsung LED 46" 3D set up with Samsung BluRay player system...also quality!! Thumbs Up

Make sure you turn the TVs own volume DOWN though and use the Surround system for volume etc otherwise it will echo and sound terrible. If you have nothing nice to say,say nothing at all.

Hmmm I do that with my PS3, iPhone, iPad and Xbox 360, using my own mediatomb linux server with 10 Terrabytes of storage Wink

Don't see the point in buying extra kit - you can make a media server with the most pathetic of PC's Smile Everyone has an old PC lying around gathering dust somewhere..... Land Rover Addict
