Upgrading cubby phone cradle..

I have the old brick in a cradle built into my cubby and I'm wondering if anybody's managed to replace the cradle with something modern to accommodate an iPhone? I've done a search and can't find anything specific. It would be ideal and save fitting an aftermarket kit..any pointers welcome Thumbs Up

I think you can mod a BMW iphone cradle (3, 4 & 5) to fit. But you will need to play with the wiring and it will only charge the phone and not integrate access to music etc. Tom

Will it still properly integrate the iPhone into the system for calls? I'm up for trying this mod if possible

No....you will need a BMW ULF for that....

my 2010 has a phone shaped slot in the upper armrest, no actual cradle but I can see how plastic parts come out to fit one.
Is there an iphone 5/6 cradle done by landrover that physically fits in that slot (don't care about wiring as im going to make an adapter to the ipod interface) Current Vehicles :
