Anyone know where I can source a de-cat pipe for the Td6?

There was a company advertising a stainless one on E-bay for £99-00 but they don't seem to be listing it anymore.

I don't think you're allowed to doit Glen.
afaik the mot will pick it up.
I stand corrected if anyone knows better.
If it is possible, then would be a good mod.

I am pretty sure you can on a diesel, as it is only tested for visible smoke. I de-catted my old 320d with no issues at MOT time.

I think you'll find that it is required for the MOT, unless you've found a blind tester.. If you want it De-catted then the only trouble free way that I know is remove it and either brake out the innards with a long screwdriver / chisel, or cut open the top (not seen part ) gut it and weld it back up.. One way is quick but requires welding skills, and the other is tedious and time consuming.. but most monkeys should be able to do it

And if you go for the hammer / chisel option make sure it's all out, otherwise I predict a post entitled "I've got a loud rattling noise coming from underneath"  Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Done a little bit of reading, and it seams to be a bit of a grey area.
depends how jobs worth your mot tester is, I know mine would say it's a complete load of b x on a diesel, but there may be others who will say this year and model should have one fitted.
I think miggets idea of taking the innards out is the best solution, because the tester can see it there but can't test it

I managed to find the company on e-bay who were doing the Td6 de-cat pipes, they also do quite a few for BMWs. I messaged them but they never came back to me.

I don't think my usual garage would have a problem with the MOT, if I removed the cat, but gutting it might be the safest option.

I am having turbo issues at the moment. The original one was whining so my garage fitted a recon one and it immediately leaked oil into the intercooler and smoked like hell. I should find out on Monday if it is faulty.

Hells bells mate, your having a bit of a mare.
the cat on mine rattles at 900-1000 rpm, I promised myself I'll get it off and sort it one of these days.

Yes, the recon turbo problem is annoying. I went to a company that were really helpful with an Iveco truck turbo a couple of years ago. They collected the dodgy recon one and the original (to see what the failure was on that one) on Friday and they should be getting back to me tomorrow with their findings. With the old turbo there was absolutely no smoke, just a whine. The garage did say, the one plus point was that the whine had gone with the recon turbo fitted!
