Velar P380

I am contemplating to buy a Velar P380 to get away from all the splitting crankshaft, EGR and Nox sensor issues associated with the various diesel engines.
Anyone got experience, good or bad, with the Jaguar/Land Rover 3l supercharged engine?

Since I am still occasionally lurking here, I thought I give you an update on the Velar P380.

I bought one in September 23 from a Land Rover dealer with 50k miles and 6 years warranty.
Yes, really. The offered 3 years with the car and another 3 years for £1500 which I thought was fair.

I was very cuffed with the car until one morning on the 6 of December. I nearly drove it into a ditch when the power steering suddenly failed in the middle of a bend. Land Rover assist came out and told me the car needed to go on the back of a Lorry to get to the next Land Rover (Taunton) garage to be fixed. 2 days later, I received a „ premium“ curtesy car, which turned out to be a BMW 3 series with M Sport Suspension and run flat tires. Not my take on a premium car.
So since December 6th, the Velar is with Land Rover to get a new steering column with integrated power steering.
I am ringing at lest once every week to ask about progress. My last conversation today was, no part yet, we can not tell you when it arrives. 😞
I bougth a petrol car to get away from all those diesel engine gremlins. Who knew the power steering can Censored you up just as much……

You’re not the only one in this predicament - I have several friends and family members who are waiting for parts back to June last year in one case and in another October. And vehicles off the road waiting for parts Land Rover are a disgrace. 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

I thought it was only the 2.0 Ingenium diesel engine that was problematic on those? For that reason, I recently got my wife a 3.0 diesel Velar. Which goes like stink compared to her previous 2.2 Evoque. 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography in black

I have an update on the steering column repair to my Velar.
The part is now with the Taunton Land Rover service department.
However, the earliest they can start the repair is...... 16th May Sad
That would make it 24 weeks from the recovery to the repair Big Cry

Hi, you should try and get that 6 months off the road tagged on to your warranty extention, you've not had use of the car but you've been paying for it, i.e. warranty clock is counting down.

I did speak to Land Rover about extending the approved used warranty but they where having none of it 😡
On a more positive note, I got my car back today 🎉 4 months and 2 weeks it took to be repaired. 😖
