ether by plastic welding the piece back together, or super glue, or depending on the type of plastic solvent weld may work.

many options but not knowing what plastic it is makes it more difficult. First and leat destructive I would suggest a 2 part glue either a superglue and activator or some sort of epoxy like araldite. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

if you have or can get some kevlar thread , squeeze the part back together, rope the tred around and then saturate kevlar with tin superglue or epoxy.

England

Strips of duct tape wrapped around worked for me for many years, until the rod came out of the rubber connector and the alloy ring inside completely corroded away. Gave up and bought a new one. (not like me! Smile ) .

If it's rubber then vulcanising cement might work. Like the stuff you get for puncture repair kits. Go and stand i front of the adeshive rack in Halfords. There are a dozen or so different glues for different things. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
