Got this advisory on MOT:

" Tie bar/ rod ball joint dust cover deteriorated, but preventing the ingress of dirt offside front upper."

They weren't touting for business as car passed MOT and they never actually mentioned it on collection.

What does it mean please?

track rod end, rubber cover over the joint is on its way out , tester probably being pernickity and can last for a good while yet (most likely)

Or it could be the one at the rear, also called tie rod / control arm .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember
