On the verge of collecting my 4.4 AB tomorrow and have to say have been a bit taken aback by insurance costs.

LR own insurance wanted over £1900, self and Swmbo only to drive, 9+ years NCD, clean licences, no commuting or business use as retired, EEK!

So contacted site sponsors A-Plan who do my lightly modded Defender to see what they would want as a change of vehicle (Defender being used in PX), much nearer the mark but still £1100. Didn't expect it to be cheap but had hoped for under a grand...

Price comparison sites were £1200 upwards, some wanting a box fitted to the vehicle which I didn't fancy .

So yet again A -Plan have come up with the the goods for me, and proves to me that a specialist broker can be the best avenue. Underwritten by Ageas so don't envisage any issues..
