I broke my bonnet cable at the lever luckily I managed to open the bonnet as the cable had snapped at the lever, so pulling it with pliers opened the bonnet, all was good, I disconnected the cable joiner in the engine bay and feed the new cable through, all was good.

I went back into the cabin to feed that blastard grommet through the fire wall, whilst I was doing this the bloody wind caught the bonnet and slammed it shut.
so guess what! Now I can't open the bonnet. Any idea on how I can't get the bonnet open now?

if your cable is connected to the bonnet latches (unclear if you managed to do this)

you may be able to get a wire coat hanger and be able to latch onto the cable and manage that way

Ok To clarify, the main cable from the bonnet catches is still there,

I disconnected the short pull cable that comes from the lever at the point where it connects to the main cable.

So the bonnet is shut, the main cable from the bonnet catches is still there underneath the closed bonnet.

Hopefully there is some way to access the end of it.
I did a google and there was a post on accessing it from the drivers side wheel arch after the inner wheel arch panels were removed and hopefully reaching up to grab it?

someone here recently had to smash the grill to get access to the hinge locks, maybe this is the way to go.. ... - .- -.

I had a problem with one of the catches and managed to pull out the front of the passenger side wheel liner and put a medium sized lever bar up to the back of the catch and release it that way. I'm fairly sure you could do that to the driver's side too. I had another catch knocking about so could see where I had to lever - which helped. Current:

I wish I had a picture of how the cable lays along the top of the inner fender, so when I pull the inner guard off I know roughly what I am feeling for with my hand. Any one willing to take a pic for me it would be greatly appreciated.

Reaching the cable alongside the wing with the inner wheel arch removed is a bit of a non-starter, the cable is laid in the 20mm gap between the wing and the large electrical box.
However if you remove the offside inner wheel arch you get reasonably good access to the cable under the slam panel next to the offside bonnet catch. You will need to reach up past the intake air flexible duct or use a hook to try and pull the cable down so that you can operate the unconnected loose end. Hopefully you didn't get round to securing the cable anywhere.

Hi Nicedayfor it, I hadn't touched the long cable, only undid the short cable from it , and un-clipped the plastic cover that covers the 2 cable joins, all the rest of the long cable is attached as per factory. so it might prove difficult, either way I have no choice but to try it , as I want to avoid breaking the grille.

Nicedayforit, your a champ, I pulled the inner wheel arch trim off and put my arm up near the intake pipe and pulled on the cable and the bonnet popped open, thanks mate your a life saver.
