Laughing Fuel savings not an issue for us KV 😂 simply bought the TDv6 because it’s the best of the best engines Mr. Green

@nmj... strictly playing the LR service and maintenance schedule game as we have the ongoing LR Extended Warranty... if anything goes south, we should be in the strongest position for the warranty company to authorise and/ or good will resolution.

Ps... an independent quoted me about £1000 to change the belts so having them done and a service for £1170 doesn’t seem that bad. Thumbs Up

It’s 2014MY Stan, they called it “an 8 year/ 112,000 mile service” although my understanding is that when the car hits 7 years or 70,000 miles (ours has done just over 75k) you should be thinking about getting the belts done.

They’ve just rang, the work is complete and apart from the annual service and belts being fitted, they’ve said the car is A1, no advisories and it has been given a clean bill of health. Fair play because people always accuse main dealers of trying to find problems for you to pay them more money to fix... or maybe they thought £1170 was enough for any 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 to stomach on one visit. That’s the most expensive planned service and preventative maintenance we’ve ever paid out actually... Nice to know the effort to keep on top of your motor pays off though. Would love to have a CTC near us but we don’t so it seems safer to keep to the main dealer route Thumbs Up

Ps... in our garage now sits a full box of all the new genuine LR parts that are required for all the cam belt changes on the 3.0 TDv6 L405 and as purchased from site sponsor Duckworth’s LR; even bought a tool for enabling the job to be done. It all cost a fair chunk of hundred of pounds and they’re no use to me now as our local main dealer was quoting exorbitant labour rates, even if we supplied the genuine LR parts 🙄

query....according to the service sheets in the wiki, the 112k/84 month service doesnt mention the replacement of the belts..
its not until you get to the 160k/120 month that the ancillary driving belts are required to be changed.. ... - .- -.

Not sure Stan, I think it was done on time and even if it was a wee bit early, it’s done now and should do more good than harm 👍🏻

Found it... it was there all along... the main dealer tech seems to have taken it out of the wheel well and placed it in its rightful storage place which nestles under the carpet/ subtly sits flush with the carpet looking like a shiny nut head to the left hand side of the boot as you look in. Double doh! Laughing

Autoglym Polar Blast Snow Foam

It is Stan... spent 3 hours searching the garage for it this morning (and did a proper garage spring clean whilst at it) before having one final (successful) look in the RR boot for the little sod Laughing

Also today, for the first time used Autoglym Polar Blast snow foam and found it to be very good. In fact, someone passing by approached and asked what foam it was because it was holding so well on the car and they said looked so much better than they’ve been using. It smells very nice and seems pretty effective. Not cheap though at about £17 for 2.5 litres from Halfords Thumbs Up
