Thumbs Up Interesing idea you have used by cutting a slot in the blocks so that they fit over the hinged flaps.

Good job Nino, that's quite impressive I must say.
I have however just located and agreed a deal for a full G4 style roof rack which is as new. We plan on doing a few organised overland trips you see so the full rack will be handy as I can throw another spare wheel up there just incase and a small storage box if needed.
The tent we're looking at folds out from the rear and has an awning that surrounds the back of the vehicle, thought these were the better option if the weather were to change suddenly, you don't get wet getting out of your tent for a coffee! You can also access the rear of the vehicle through the awning, and of course being a RR the tailgate will double up as a seat or table Smile
Thanks for all the replies guys, very helpful.

Sounds good.

Do you need to remove the flaps from the roof on the G4 rack?

cheers Alex

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but did something similar that may help others.

I used a set of standard Rhino Bars off a ford transit here in the UK.

I had the sports bars with the two long gutters that bolt to the roof of the L322. Needless to say, the sport bars didn't last long with a roof tent.

So I set about making an adapter out if 25mm od ally to mount the transit bars to the long gutter on the L322.

Pics hopefully
attached. Feel free to pm me if you want any details on the parts list etc I used 🙂
