When I took in my FFRR to have the auto sorted I spoke at length with the owner of the firm (hands on) who did it. He had several FFRR's in to do, one of which had a busted transferbox. He said that he couldn't get the parts to rebuild it |

That just seems wrong.... you think the New venture gear plant ( the plant that built these NV225 ) in roitzsch, germany would send me a few bearings |

Its got to be worth a punt... they aren't small change as I'm sure you've already figured out. Other thing to try I guess would be to take all the measurements you can and speak with a specialist. 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS

I believe I read that the transfer case was un-rebuildable in the RAVE too (rubbed me wrong, which is why I remember it. That sort of comment makes me think: F@(K U! You're not getting my money!)

long shot but on the bearing sides outer ring (if that makes sense ) there is usually a number in maybe black that is the bearing spec number if you know that you can get one from anywhere |

A bearing wont be unique to one application, it will fit a multitude of roles.

Regarding anything transmission my first port of call would be Dave Ashcroft of Ashcroft Transmissions. If it's at all possible he will know how. (advertises in LR mags)
