Thanks for the heads-up about this place.

Today they have given B.B. an 8 speed Auto box service Megaflush and oil change, reset the logic memory etc.
All for £450.00 inc VAT.
I fully intended doing the diffs oil change and the transfer box myself, but I have been suffering with bad back ache recently so when they offered to change the oils in both diffs and transfer box for £150.00 inc VAT while they had it up on the ramp, I decided to let them do it.

The whole package was done within 4 hours which was plenty of time for my wife to spend mega bucks at the nearby York shopping outlet. They lent me a free courtesy car to get there and back.

Very pleased with the place.

I will reply in a couple of weeks Stan, when I have driven it around a bit more.
It is difficult to find fault with how it was before, but, because it has just reached 70,000 mls, I wanted to get all the oils changed that are not touched in normal annual service.
They warned me that I may get a few strange gear changes for a few days whilst it re-learns my driving habits ???

Certainly on the 62 mile motorway journey home it felt very lively and my 80mph speed warning was very active😉😉😉

I had a box oil change about a month ago now and noticed absolutely no difference at all (only the smug peace of mind feeling)  405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

I am pretty sure you are right, I thought it was super smooth before the oil change, but now I feel I have done the best I can to keep it running beyond my “ driving days” . If it does another 70,000 miles, I will be 6 ft under 😭😭😭

I have done 200 miles now since the oil change.
At first it was definitely holding each gear for a few seconds longer but with very noticeable steps on the Rev counter as it changed .

I don’t understand exactly what software was reset, but the owner/ mechanic said to expect a few random changes until it re-learned my driving style and the new oil settled.

It is back to being silky smooth now and I definitely agree with Adrian.
The “Smug factor” knowing it is full of nice clean oil, plus it says on the invoice, “ Doctor Tranny “ ?? is the only difference.

He did say that both diffs were very clean compared to some he had done.
He also commented what a good job the Dinitrol treatment people had done , which I got a good look at whilst it was up on the 4 post ramp.

I specifically asked about running new oil through an old filter.
I was told that they have done lots of 6 speed boxes and never found any problems with the filters and unless they find a problem with the oil they drain out they don’t change many filters.

I don’t think they have done too many 8speeds, but I decided to go along with their advice and just get the “ Flush & refill”
done.
He told me my old oil was very clean compared to others he had done.

If Stu is reading this thread, I would be interested to hear how his is after he has run it for a couple of months now.
