United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Santorini Black

Kids both left home last year - so we sold the house - bought a ski place - the resort is El Tarter - currently in rented in the UK & looking to buy somewhere smaller.

Already had a summer place - so the plan is 4 months skiing - 2 months UK - 4 months water skiing - 2 months UK - repeat Cool

I work in central London - so lots of flights - my dream is to have enough money to have the lifestyle of my wife & dogs Whistle

Alistair - what sort of waterskiing - do you slalom? Where do you w/ski here? Waterskiing and wakeboarding have been my life really.
El Tarter looks cool - I had never really considered where the Pyrenees was and how close it is to the coast!
Rolling in and out of the airport in the fatty will be bliss though right!?
Yes definitely - we're trying to get the business to where we can go for that lifestyle!

Gazelio we've done several trips in a campervan to the snow and loved it.
We got caught out in Lake Tahoe this year on our first day on the slopes after driving 15 hrs through the night (three roads washed away from rain- which meant epic snow by the time we got high!) .
We arrived in resort at 6am with our one year old booked into his first day ever of nursery, getting the bus from the campsite to the slopes was an experience, even at 7am the Americans were either drunk or high as kites, it confirmed the fact that "bro ski bums" really do exist and crack heads ride the bus - you do not get the bus in the US!! Nothing like the civilised Euro ski buses!!!
So by day 2 we figured out we could drive the RV to the bottom of the slopes, drop the boy in nursery, go back for breakfast and walk 20 yards to the lifts- Heaven!!

I waterski, wakeboard & wakesurf recreationally - I enjoy it, but I'm not good at it - and do it on a big lake south of Bordeaux here and keep our boat down there. Huge fresh water lake & only a few miles from a beautiful coast, especially if you're into surfing (not that I am). I spend every summer weekend in Bordeaux - so it's been a lot of years since I was in a UK lake Very Happy

I've been from there to El Tarter a few times - sometimes across country to the A62 - sometimes back up to the Bordeaux Rocade and back down the 62 - but then it's a straight run through Toulouse - Foix - Ax and across the border - though apparently that road can get closed after heavy snowfall so my mid-season flights are from Barcelona. It's 300 miles & 5 hours from Bordeaux. Not sure how far to the coast, not done that run.

Yep - the fattie to & from the airport each week - it spends 4-5 days in the car park & then back again Thumbs Up

Very nice X2 [Edit: X30??], I've clocked up 1000's of hours behind the wheel in those!

I hear the Bordeaux lakes are amazing! I know quite a few people who go down there every summer.

Here are a few pics the two I used to have on the lake I used to run and evidence of our unhealthy obsession:- https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1JA...sp=sharing

And a vid of me and the boy this summer on a friend's X2 ( old hull shape ) https://www.instagram.com/p/BZJwXiEls8_/?t...ushuntsman

It looks super accessible to the sea which is nice - we surf a lot!

It is just the strangest thing going up the lift turning around and seeing the lake in the background, and looking over into flat flat Nevada! Although I'm not convinced that the breakfast top the French Patisseries!

We had a bear going through the trash right next to our RV as well!!

We didn't make it to Mammouth but Our friends were there at the same time - they had a good amount of snow as you can see by these pics 2016 vs 2017 https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Jq...sp=sharing
